I have good news and bad news...
Let’s get the bad news out of the way. No matter how hard you may try to eat the right foods and use the “cleanest” products in efforts to minimize your exposure to chemicals and toxins; they are unavoidable. Yes, it is the world we are living in.
According to reports by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the average person now has 212 environmental chemicals that can be found in their blood. The World Health Organization has studies that show we have over 700 chemicals on average in our bodies. Environmental toxins such as pesticides, preservatives, medications, heavy metals and industrial toxins are in our food, clothing, water and air. These toxins have been associated with hormone disruption, immune system suppression, reproductive disorders, cancer and many other diseases. The polluted state of our environment has left every one of our systems on overload from this array of toxins.
But don’t get depressed yet!
Here’s the good news... Your body was intelligently designed to have a natural ability to detoxify itself. So while we can’t just avoid these toxins it also means there is something we can do to help the body with this overload.
When our detoxifying organs (liver, lungs, kidneys, and the colon) get clogged with cellular debris and toxins, they are not able to efficiently filter and eliminate these toxins. This is when we start to see symptoms that these organs could use a little spring cleaning to help them do their job more efficiently.
So the big question is, “Is your body signaling you for a spring cleaning?”
Do you experience:
Headaches
Weight gain, weight loss resistance, water retention
Food Cravings
Body Odor, Bad Breath
Inability to sweat OR excessive sweating
Indigestion
Skin issues; such as acne, rosacea, eczema
Fatigue unrelieved by sleep
Moodiness or anger
Nausea
Chemical sensitivity (smelling fragrances or chemicals makes you sick)
Insomnia, or waking during the night, especially between 1-3AM
Spring is a wonderful time to take advantage of the body's natural cleansing efforts for the eliminatory organs. Early spring is the time of year to especially support the liver and gallbladder so that we can clear the cellular clutter, and get things functioning better.
Join us to learn the best ways to enhance your health with a spring cleanse!
Saturday, March 17th
10-11:30 AM
In the meantime, here are 5 things you can do NOW to prepare:
- Cut sugar out now. Sugar can give us some serious withdrawal symptoms on it's own, so (especially if you have lots of sugar in your diet) this will help you be more successful when you start your cleanse. This includes everything but fruit. And don't forget to look at your beverages!
- Eat more vegetables. Try replacing carbs such as pasta, bread, and crackers with more vegetables. Remember that vegetables are carbohydrates but they are the carbs you want in your diet. Lightly steamed is the best way to eat them right now.
- Eat more fat. Try adding a tablespoon or two of grass fed butter, coconut oil, ghee, or MCT oil to your coffee or tea in the morning. This will help you stay satiated longer and reduce cravings for those carbs your cutting back on! It will also give you a more sustained energy as it trains your body to burn fat instead of glucose for fuel. And with the nourishment it provides your brain and nervous system you will have an easier time transitioning into a cleanse.
- Schedule time in your calendar. Look at your calendar now and make a plan for when you can implement what you're going to learn on March 17th. You don't need to completely clear your calendar and lay in bed, but you do want to make sure that you will have 3-5 days that are jam packed and stressful.
- Enlist a friend. Everything is better with a friend. Especially if you're intimidated by your first cleanse. No matter how many you've done; having someone to hold you accountable as well as encourage you will make cleansing so much easier! So find a friend and reserve your spot now!
